Testosterone

Testosterone not just a sex hormone

Testsosterone is often seen to have a very limited role to play in sexual health and libido. This view of testosterone is under challenge as many studies are now showing how important this hormone is to clinical problems such as cardiovascular health, osteoporosis and brain function. One study stated

'In men, endogenous testosterone concentrations are inversely related to mortality due to cardiovascular disease and all causes. Low testosterone may be a predictive marker for those at high risk of cardiovascular disease.'  (Khaw, Dowsett et al. 2007)

This tutorial provides an easy to follow visual guide on important and little-known aspects of testosterone function.
